Global Children's Art Gallery
Guidelines

Please take a moment to review the following guidelines:

  • Age range:  The gallery accepts pictures made by children up to 12 years of age. This applies to the age of the child when the picture was created, not their current age.

  • Color / black and white:  We do not accept black and white or single-color drawings, except by artists under 3 years of age. If the artist is age 3 or older, please send multicolor or finely-shaded B&W sketches only.

  • Originality:  We prefer artwork based on original ideas rather than copied from an existing source.

  • Number of pictures:  Please send no more than one picture per artist per month, and no more than a few pictures (from different artists) at one time. Priority is given to first-time contributors - additional pictures sent by the same artist may be added to future pages as space and time permits.

  • Teachers:  If you are a teacher you may let your students know about the gallery but please do not send pictures directly. As we try to represent a variety of locales and styles on each page - if we receive a batch of several pictures from one location, we may have to leave out or delay some, and do not wish to disappoint your students. Also, we prefer pictures that have come about through the child's own initiative, rather than assigned by a teacher or art instructor.

  • Content:  As we have many young children viewing the site, pictures with violent or frightening imagery or that are otherwise inappropriate for younger children will not be added. Also, as one of the goals of this gallery is to increase understanding between people in different cultures, we will not add pictures that suggest the superiority of one country.

  • Previously published works:  Pictures that have already appeared in another website or other medium may be submitted unless the owners of that publication do not permit pictures to be reproduced elsewhere.

  • Fees / picture usage:  This gallery is a free service provided by The Natural Child Project. We scan, prepare, display and host accepted pictures at no charge. In exchange, we may use pictures in the gallery for fundraising products such as prints and greeting cards, and for promoting this web site. We occasionally allow partners to use the pictures in books or other media (with the artist's names credited), sometimes for a donation, if we believe the use is for a good purpose.
